Long story semi short:
Bankruptcy chapter 7 discharged back in August 2016.
Credit cards since then: Discover IT ($2000), Discover Miles ($2500), Target ($2300), CreditOne ($750), CreditOne ($500), Overstock ($650), Walmart ($500), Kohls ($300).
In the beginning of 2018 I had most of the cards maxed out due to switching a job. I just recently paid down my cards to have a utilization of around 33% and was literally just telling a friend about how Capital One will never take me back.
Decided to do the preapproval site (that I just did 1 week ago and nothing showed up) and the preapproval came back with the QS1 and the Platinum.
I bit the bullet and I couldn't be happier!
Glad my credit is back on the right track! Anything is possible if you put your mind to it!
Congrats on u discharge and on the aproval m8.
That’s awesome congrats! Soon you can start purging credit one!
Congrats!
Just got my Capital One QS1 a month ago and am in a total rebuilding process myself.
Capital One has been the base for my rebuild, had a Platinum Secured card that went unsecured and was recently approved for a QS1 with a $300 CL. Don't care about how much my CL is, just getting these cards is so important to me at this stage in my rebuild.
This is my first 1.5% cash back card.....can add up very nicely. I've been making some large purchases on the card recently and then immediately paying off.
Congratulations on your approval and progress!
Congrats!!! Welcome back to Capital One!!!
