Hello all,
Data points at bottom if you want to skip ahead.
Well here is my last app of the year. I applied for the Capital One Venture to take advantage of SUB for travel. The process was long and not at all straight forward (see example here ). I did eventually get a call to confirm acceptance of my docs/verification and later I received a letter dated 11/26 stating that the account was approved for $5000 (APR 24.74%).
The card just came today 12/10.
I was pleasantly surprised considering my history with Capital One. Back in 2012 I had 4 of their credit cards with limits of 500/500/500/4000 and at that time I fell so far behind in payments that the smaller accounts went to Collections and the larger acccount I made settlement arrangments with them directly. I did pay all accounts-- by end 2013--and the last of the derogatory remarks regarding Capital One dropped off all Credit reports by July of this year.
They seem to be a forgiving card issuer.
I hope I can still make the December Garden , because Im done with apps for now. I keep reading on the board about AA, from banks like Synch and Chase for users opening too many accounts. I mean if they close an acccount so be it. But I like what I have and want to keep it till all inquires drop off (2020).
