CareCredit -- too soon to apply? UPDATE - Approved

I am anticipating some upcoming dental and veterinary bills, so I'd like to apply for the CareCredit card now instead of waiting until an emergency is bearing down on me. From what I've read on these forums, this seems to be a particularly favorable time for CareCredit apps.

However, I just opened a Chase Freedom card in May 2019, my first Chase card. Before then, I had let a year pass since my last app spree (well, first ever app spree really) for 4 cards in March/April 2018.

I thought I might not qualify for the Chase Freedom... 5/24 and very low income. But I was approved for SL $3200.

I've been giving the CF plenty of swipes and PIF'ed twice, and already met and received the SUB. But I wonder... would applying for another card (CareCredit) so soon spook Chase at all? Or could it hurt my score, besides the usual ding?

Thanks for your advice.

My understanding is not every place accepts the CareCredit card, you may want to check that your dentist/veterinary does.

Re: CareCredit -- is it too soon to apply?

Thanks very much for your feedback. I need to find a new dentist anyway, so accepting CareCredit will be the first criterion. My vet is already on board.

I went ahead and app'ed online just a moment ago. Instant approval for $4500.

I'd like a bit more, so I'll phone later today and ask. Will report back.....

Oh my! I phoned to ask for an increase, from $4500 to $6000, please?

They countered by increasing the CL to $7200. Thank you, CareCredit!

Congrats on the approval. I apped for that card back in May. Starting limit of $2000 currently have a limit of $12000 in a matter of 2 months. It will grow and if its accepted at your doctor, its well worth especially with the special financing in IMO.
