Lots of opinions about Wells Fargo on the site and I can certainly understand everyone's feelings I just have been lucky enough to have had no problems with them. Have a mortgage with them and and they generally rotate between offers (checking, savings, credit card, and loan) when I review my account online. In September took the offer for $100 after 10 transactions when opening a checking account and added a savings account while I was at it. There is lots of verification that occurs, so much so that I wound up having to go into a branch to get my debit card.
While in there I got the normal "are there any other services we can help with wih" question. The Banking Specialist then ran through all of the credit cards available and the benefits of cellphone protection. I asked what CRA they would pull with an application and he couldn't tell me, so I passed. It did make me think about what I could save, researched the credit pulls database for who they might pull, and decided to give it a shot.
Shortening this long story, applied on the 14th of Nov for the Cash Wisa VS (1.5% for everything) and it went for review. Called Tuesday morning (15 Nov) and was told approved for $18K, 11.24% APR, and they pulled EX. Had 6 INQs and 799 score before the app. Looking forward to my first yellow CC.
