If i recall AARP Visa is good for 3% back on restraunt tabs.. and they are pretty loose on what they deem restraunts... But not sure about that
@Anonymous wrote:Congrats! I was one that posted that it was subject to 5/24 due to being told that by an unhelpful recon line agent. Luckily I got my Fairmont card approved after 4 recon attempts. Glad to hear that this card is in fact not included!
Yeah these CSR's do not hesitate to give out incorrect information.

Thanks HP

Congrats! Why did you go for the AARP card?
1. It had to be one that hopefully wouldn't be subject to 5/24
2. I like the $100 bonus on a $500 3-month spend
3. I like 3% on restaurants & gas
4. I wanted to do something with Chase, & really don't need another travel card; I already have 2 business travel cards (Amex Plat & BOA World Points) & 2 personal travel cards (JetBlue & Hilton), and I don't actually travel that much.
5. I think the AARP is a good organization, fighting for Social Security & the like, so I like the idea of supporting them (as opposed to the NRA, e.g.)
Congratulations, SJ! I like the card for the same reasons you do. It is my go to card for dining out. Enjoy!
