I have had the Chase Freedom for 8 months sitting at a $7k limit. It saw barely any use outside of the SUB, maybe about $30 a month if lucky. The categories just weren't right!
I was sitting at 8/24, when less than a week ago, Chase gave me the green checkmark offer for the Sapphire Preferred! I wasn't sure, because I was 4 cards too high to apply, but knowing the knowledge of MyFico, I went ahead and ran my phone # and income through, and BAM, my highest limit ever at $20.9k!
Oh no. Today I paid my rent with the Preferred and wanted to see my completion progress towards the SUB, when I signed in to Chase.com at the dinner table....
Green. Check. Mark. For the Freedom Unlimited!
I thought about it for the rest of the day. Would they really approve me again? Was I at my Chase exposure limit? I knew if I didn't apply and the offer went away, that I would have to wait 2 long years to apply again...I had to scratch the itch and...
BOOM! $18.1K in approval for the Freedom Unlimited!
My two highest limits were given to me in the course of 3 days from Chase. I just can't believe it! My total exposure with Chase is now at $46k, and constitutes half of my limits available from all other banks I am with!
And just like that, I completed my Chase Trifecta at 9/24! Wow!
Edit: Not even 24 hours later after getting the Freedom Unlimited, the Green Checkmark offers are back for ROUND 3!!! I think I'll hold off this time, I don't need two Unlimiteds!
Congrats on your approvals!
Congrats!
I am debating myself on applying for a pre-selected Chase Slate card. I already have a Chase Freedom at $1500, I'm at 6/24 right now, with 23% overall utilitization (only $175 on the Freedom card) and 674 FICO, I'm encouraged to maybe pull the trigger and apply for it after hearing your story.
Congrats again!
Congrats! I can’t get any green checkmarks to show for me!
Congrats! Love hearing these stories of people beating the stupid 5/24 rule.
Great story, tyler. Boom! Love it. Congratulations! to you on two excellent approvals.
Question: Did both cards require a double HP (TU EX) and what were your scores?
Congrats on both approvals !!!!
