congrats man. use it wisely and if you build up a good relationship with chase your CP can start to look like mine (if not better). my rebuilding CP is just 7 months so you can do it. having a chase bank account also helps build up your relationship with them aswell.

CP? And yup I've had checking with them for 6 months. That CSR is pretty... It'll be a while for me until I get serious about any premium cards though. Once I'm out of school, at least. Smiley Wink

might be credit profile, just a guess.  good call, forget that card and other chase stuff for now.  beside cap1 and nfcu you might want to check out boa, they have decent starters and can grow into monsters.  as soon as you see a prequal for cap1 you can get it and then focus all your spend towards it.  max and pif over and over and it will get huge.  sorry for the post drift

I had a prequal from Amex the other day. I was considering BOA but aren't they HP CLI as well? I was going to check for Cap1 prequals but the form requires full SSN which makes me uneasy for just a prequal check... They do also specify that they don't prequal under 21, so I'm out there.

Yup I'm under 21 still and I've two years before I'll see a full-time income. I'm just trying to establish some accounts to get my length of history up far, far in advance of a need for a mortgage, etc. I might do Cap1 for the QSR but I've promised to garden now. Especially since my AAoA has just dropped from 6 months to 3.

thought so.  good for you, your on your way.  chase can be like penfed, all your ducks have to be in order to get a decent line.  myself I am getting a csp later this year to bonus and feed my other cards with low cls from them.  sometimes going around the long way for a solution is the only way about it.   only charge what you can cover with cash.  use the cards for a transaction not as a revolver.  you have heard it before so hear it again - never ever be late and never pay interest.  be well and congrats again

Thanks Smiley Happy And I'm pretty sure all my ducks are in order... as far as I can tell anyway! Maybe I'll get an auto-cli at some point. If not, I'll have to suffer an HP at some point. Charging no more than I can pay at the end of the month is my exact plan, and I've been following it with Disco for six months now. Haven't paid a penny of interest I'm just reaping the bonuses Smiley Very Happy

better to hp for a new card vs an cli with chase and fold the cards into each other imo.  the more i think about it I think cap1 is a solid future more for you, the nfcu app is an unknown for me because of your age, maybe someone else can chime in.  I know you can grow the cap1.  maybe get the venture 1 and then pc it to a qs.  you have time, take it

boa will auto cli you...you have to focus on card at a time,  max and pif the card to death for a year and then move to the next one imo.  chase wants history so even thought they are the top lender imo you will not be able to work them for several more years to your advantage.  again you have time.  you dont need that many card to make this all happen for you, 3-4 and that is enough imo

yes when i said CP i was refering to credit profile. anyways stay away from BoA as they HP EVERYTHING. i've had a checking account with them for over 10 years and they do nothing for me. meanwhile chase just gave me a huge SL on the CSR and i've only been with them for less than a year. if you plan on getting the other chase cards (such as getting the trifecta) then don't get any new credit cards and wait to build up your relationship with them so you can get their other cards, otherwise go for AMEX, DISCO and CAP1 next as they do SP CLI. if i had known what i know today and could do it all over again i would have gotten 5 chase cards first to be at the 5/24 then moved on to the other cards, but i don't regret how it's turned out so far (outside of getting 2 useless CCs when i started rebuilding).

also look into opening up a $500 SSL with Alliant CU as that will boost your score and they don't check your credit either. what i did was pay off the whole loan within a couple of weeks after opening the SSL and only left like $25 and set my bank to pay $2.50 every 6 months to keep it active until close to the 5th year.

Gotcha on CP. And I'm not crazy about BOA anyway just because I don't have anything with them. I just noticed your CSR limit that's amazing congrats! Once my AAoA builds up a bit I'll probably hit up Cap1. Maybe they'll have something different by then seeing as the QSR and the Chase FU are pretty much the same product.. I'm hoping my Disco will grow; I'm eligable for graduation later this month so cross your fingers for me! Smiley Happy

That's not a bad deal at Alliant... If I needed a car loan or mortgage in the near future I'm sure I'd do that. Right now I'm looking to make money not spend it haha

IF I was going to burn a HP, I'd do it with PenFed Smiley Happy

NFCU $60.4k/PenFed $22.5k/Commerce $15K/53 $11K/Synovus $14K/BBT $11K/CapOne $12K/DCU $7.5K/BMO $7.5K/Chase $14.5k/Cabelas $10K/ and many many more!
Total CL $398600, plus car and RV loan.
Ooh. Ooh. Getting closer to that $500K mark!

SSL is used to rebuild your credit. you put $500 into their savings account then  a few days later they give you the $500 loan and once you do that you withdraw your $500 back into your bank account and then pay your loan off minus $25 and then youll only have $25 frozen in the savings account. your not spending money because the interest is so small that is not even noticed.

Re: Chase FU... APPROVED with $300 bonus!

Just got TU today and it turns out Chase didn't pull it.

So yes on Ex, no on TU. I won't see my EQ for a while. (Unless somebody knows where I can get it free?)
