Chase Freedom APPROVED....but...

I decided to apply for the Chase Freedom this morning since it has been all I could think about all weekend. I got the 7-10 message and I called the backdoor number and was told that I was declined. I tried to sweet talke the csr but he was not having it (so much for my girlish charm lol). I saw I was getting no where with him so I called back about 30 minutes later and got a nice lady and she told me it was declined and why (inquiries, new accounts). I told her that I know the accounts are new but to please not overlook the mortgage and car loan that I had several years ago. They were both paid in full perfectly and I paid cash for the car I have now. I told her that I pif each month and I only have one card that I run a balance on and that is because I did a 0% interest deal. She was gone for several minutes and then what do you know but my phone went dead!! I called back to try and get her back but of course I got someone else and they were reading her notes and said she gave me a recommendation....so I was put on hold for what seemed like an eternity!! She transfered me to another guy and he asked a bunch of security questions and then told me Congratulations that I was approved!! I almost dropped the phone I was so excited!!! This is the card I wanted to begin with but I was afraid to apply. Anyways.....he said I would get the card and a welcome packet within a week and when I asked about my credit limit he said he does not have that information! What?? He said I would have to wait until the packet comes in....what's up with that?

I'm sorry for any typos....my nerves are torn to pieces now....lol

Congrats on the successful recon! Strange that they wouldn't disclose the CL though.

Ok......I came her first cause I was so excited and I knew you all would understand....lol I just logged in to my chase bp account and the freedom is already showing up.....the credit limit is 500.00. I was hoping for more but I am just excited to have it!! I have only had the chase bp gas card for 2 months so how are they on cli's? I can't believe I got approved!!! I was going to wait a year for it!!! I am so grateful to these forums and all you guys because without it/yall I would have took the denial and just let it go!

$ 500 is a lower limit, but take it and run with it ! I have other cards that have much higher limits, but the card is great. I asked for a CLI upon activation and took a HP for nothing ! After a year , I requested a CLI and they only bumped me up to $800. (+ another HP) It will likely be a "slow-grower" in the initial year or two, but at least you hit your target !

If you would have waited...you could have gotten a better limit. That's the low end of Chase so not sure how they are with CLIs.I read some stories on here of people with 10kCLs on future cards and Chase still on the LOW end! Some people end up closing theirs and reopening it.

As of 2017, rebuilding...
