I just got denied for Amex EDP. My plan was to apply for an Amex and Chase card the same day 91 days after my last Amex approval but I jumped the gun. I'm surprised I got denied on that Amex, considering that I have put ~$100k annually through a personal charge card for the past 5ish years and haven't been late. I'm also pleasantly surprised that I got approved for $2.5k on the Freedom card. I am a CPC, but have next to no assets with Chase anymore and barely use my checking account. Strange that I was denied for the Amex yet approved for the Chase card given my recent history with the two banks. This Freedom wasn't really a card that I want. I really want the Hyatt card, however I was pretty sure that one would be an instant denial given my score and the min $5k SL.
