Excellent news! Isn't it nice to plan your work and work your plan?
Congrats on the increase!!! I almost bit and took the hardpull when i was denied a CLI via SP on my Discover but stood firm and still gardening at the moment!
Congrats!!! If the head gardener is leaving the garden, it has to be worthwhile, and it was!

either way...
Happy Dance! Yay for Tinuviel!

And a big thanks to everyone. The help and encouragement on these forums is amazing!!!
@tinuviel wrote:I know, I know... I wasn't planning on apping for any more cards this year. But I've really been impressed with how well my DH's Freedom has been working out for him, and the bonus categories overlap so well with my Discover. Since I sat back and gardened my new accounts for the last six months, and I have quite a few accounts that are considerably older than they are, and there was a pre-qualified offer waiting for me at Chase's website, and there's a $100 sign up bonus, I decided to go for it. The result, approved, with a $5000 CL!!!
Earlier I tried for a CLI with Discover, but they said it would be a HP. Since I just said goodbye to my gold spade, I decided to go for it. The result is that my CL with Discover has doubled, from $2000 to $4000!!!
So, I picked up another $7000 in credit this afternoon, including a very nice new card that has a worthwhile place in my portfolio! Considering that I'm sitting home today recovering from dental surgery (ouch!), this has really helped perk up my mood!
CONGRATS!!!!
You have an awesome credit file Tinu, keep up the good work!!!
Wow, I guess I feel like my daughter when she realized her teacher goes grocery shopping like any other human does..lol~ The head gardener actually left the garden!!! Just kidding!
A very big congrats

Thanks, LS. I have to admit that I'm thrilled to be where I am now compared to when I started rebuilding in the summer of 2010. Over the last couple of years, I've been able to prune away creditors like FP and Orchard -- they served their purpose, but it was a wonderful feeling to have moved past them. And everything that I've added since has had a place and a purpose in my wallet. This addition was the final piece, as it compliments my Discover so nicely. I love the 5% categories that they both offer, and when they don't overlap it affords the opportunity to earn a great deal of cash back.
The only reason that I didn't include Chase in my app spree last August was that I honestly believed that there was a good chance that I was blacklisted because of an old Providian account that went bad. Then last November a forum member provided a link to a Chase preapproval site, and I found that I was preapproved for Freedom and CSP, which indicated that I might not be blacklisted after all. The thought still nagged at me, though, and I tried to just ignore it and consider Chase to be a lender that I should avoid. When my newest accounts hit six months, I finally decided that the risk of a decline was worth the attempt, and I'm so glad that I went for it! It's a good card that will serve me well. But beyond that, it feels nothing short of fantastic to know that I'm not on any issuer's blacklist! As a consumer, I love knowing that I have choices, and I feel that my credit has reached the point that I can pick and choose the lenders with whom I want to do business. It's taken time for me to get here, but it's a wonderful place to be.

LOL!!!
Yes, even the head of the Garden Club gets to leave the garden, IF the situation is appropriate. Remember, gardening is not about never, ever leaving the garden, but rather waiting until the time and circumstances are right.
