I had been looking at adding a Chase tradeline for a year or two and I keep seeing the Chase Saffire Prefered is one of the best overall cards to get.
I checked their pre approval page consistently, via ingognito browser, phone etc. and its always said they had no offers for me.
My Fico 08 Scores are all between 710-720 at the moment so I just said screw it and applied anyways.
Got an instant approval with a $20k limit!
Still not sure why I never got a pre approval, but glad I took the inquiry.
Yeah, pre-app's / offers don't always mean you get the card and the lack of them doesn't mean you won't be approved either. I never got pre-app's on Chase or Amex and both came through in the end. I'm at over 70K w/ Chase now and Amex is over 50K aggregate. If you see a card that works for you then go for it. A HP isn't the end of the world and sometimes you luck out like you did and get a 20K limit out of it.
Congratulations!!! That is some very good information to share, thank you!
Congrats on the new Sapphire and the excellent SL!
Congrats on your Chase approval and SL!
Cold Hard app and $20K, Nice!
"I just said screw it and applied anyways." Thats how i'd do it
Congrats!!!
A quick update for anyone interested.
I just received my card in the mail and read the back of the paper that the card came with.
They pulled Experian, but below it has the following:
Information about your credit score:
Your Credit Score: 728
Date Calculated: 06/17/2019
Scoring system name Card Aquisition Risk Score V2
Source: JPMorgan Chase Bank
Interestly enough, I dont have that score anywhere in my Fico subscription and that number is 8 points higher than any of my other Experian scores that MyFico lists.
Thought this may be useful information to share
congrats on that HUGE approval!
Heck-of-an approval, nicely done! Congrats!
