Yes, the FU technically is a cashback card but the cashback is earned in the form of UR points. In order to use those UR points to transfer to travel partners which is where they are the most valuable, you need to pair it with either the CSP, CSR or one of the business Ink cards. This is what is commonly referred to as the Chase trifecta (in some cases like for myself the 'quadfecta') where you have both of the Freedom cards along with one of the aforementioned cards so that you maximize your UR earning capabilities
