After having the card for 10 months and various unsucessful attempts at CLI i logged into my account tonight and to my surprise they gave me an auto 200 increase! Yay!! i know its not much but getting denied various times in the past i had finally given up and was thinking about sock-drawering the card and bam! i get an increase! Is it still possible to call the backdoor number and request a greater amount even though i was given an auto increase?
why bother? your scores are good enough in your signiture so you can use a MUCH better card, not sure about the Chevron Texaco card but the Mobil card is 6% off a gallon....... at gas prices around $4 a gallon a 6 cents savings is virtually nothing..... If you get a 3% on gas card you'll be saving around 12 cents a gallon. Or a card like Chase Ink can get you 2 points on gas and can be worth upwards of 10 cents a piece for first class tickets or 3.7 cents each for coach etc.
PenFED also has a 5% gas card etc , Costco Trueearnings does 3% and 4% for the business version.

One of the cards that i want so badly in the future is the Costco Trueearnings card, but i have heard it is difficult to get approved for so i am waiting till some of my inquiries fall off from Experian (where i have around 18 in the last 2 years). I am hoping i have this card come summertime. I just like Chevron/Texaco gas!
