How long have you had your Citi AAvantage card?
7 months. And I just did a trip to Florida (flew on AA). From my experience, when going for an airline card, I have good luck soon after the flight (within 30 days post flight).
Thanks for the info. I was approved for the Citi Advantage card a couple of weeks ago and I was wondering how soon I could ask for a CLI.
I will be flying on AA May 1st. I hope that helps my chances for a CLI.

You've been taking HPs this whole time or were you just joking? Honest question.
In any case congrats on your CLIs!
For me, they have been SP's every time.
If you're looking for the SP language yes, otherwise they require a HP. My CLI page has the HP language still there.
That being said, I should have included that I do have the same Citi cards and that for me, they've been SP for both. Hope y'all get SP's too.
Congratulations!

Citi Costco - $3,000 increase to $12,000
Citi AAdvantage - $1,000 increase to $12,000
EQ at 715, TU at 665, EX - 750
Congrats on the approval...
I have a collection on my credit report, that's why I keep getting declined on a CLI

Congrats OP!
But as said above, it's SP only if it says so. I could be wrong, but the type of increases you just received seem to be very high for Citi's usual SP CLIs. I hope I'm wrong and I get something like that when I'm eligible!I've requested and received four SP CLIs from Citi. Each was in th $2k to $3k range. The OP's SP CLIs fairly typical for Citi. Key point is the minimum 6 months between CLI requests. If less than 6 months expect denial.
Do you mean typical or atypical?
I've been requesting CLIs on 2 cards (Costco and DC) for about 3 and 4 years respectively or 6 - 8 times. Each CLI has been what you've also experienced. $2k most times and $3k only once -- consistently every 6 months. These are my DW's accounts, and her scores are all in the 800s. UTIL low around 2% to 4%. Income in the high 100s.
$9k and $11k CLIs are not that common for Citi. Particularly coming from very low CLs (no offense to OP).
Anyway, this is amazing for OP, but I'd hardly consider this normal Citi CLIs. Not just from my own experience, but from DPs of people posting here. Great job regardless.
None taken. When I app'd & approved - my scores were much higher because I had just closed on our home.

Perhaps I misunderstood what the OP wrote.
I interpreted the increases as being $3k and $1k - not that $3k and $1k were the OP's credit limits prior to the SP CLIs.
Well, c r a p. It looks like I'm the one who misunderstood. LOL
I just reread the first post, and I thought he meant $3k CL to $12K CL, and $1k CL to $12k CL. That's why I was so surprised about the massive increases.
Hahahaha! I'm good but not that good! Bough a house, got these cards once we closed. My scores will go back up. Been using credit responsibly and a bunch of HPs should fall off this year.
I waited 6 months and ensured the SP language was in there.

Congratulations on your persistence with Citi. Did they HP you on your CLI requests? I have 4 recently opened Citi accounts. I looked at doing it but, says they will do a HP at the end so I decided against it.
