Citi DC CLI (10.5k to 14.5k)

My current credit line is: $14,500 July 26th, 2018.

My starting credit line was: $4,600 July 1st, 2016.

First CLI: January 1st, 2017. $4,600 --> $6,100 = $1,500 CLI.
Second CLI: July 8th, 2017. $6,100 --> $7,600 = $1,500 CLI.

Third CLI (Automated): January 11th, 2018. $7,600 --> $10,500 = $2,900 CLI.

Fourth CLI: July 26th, 2018. $10,500 --> $14,500 = $4,000 CLI.

CLI was soft pull. I made a request for an increase on July 17th, 2018 that wasn't approved. Then after the first statement of my new Citi Simplicity card showed up Citi sent me an email approving of my CLI. As usual I spent over $1,000 every month and paid in full before the statement cut.

With my current income I'm almost max of what Citi will offer me in CL's across all their cards. I think this might be the last CLI I request for this card, since they've offered me almost half my income in CL's. A big thank you to the My Fico community for all this shared information it truly helps figure out the right decisions to make when applying for new credit and when to take a break.

When I applied for my first credit card (Chase Freedom, $500 CL) over the phone on Dec 2014, I never thought I would have multiple CC's with high credit limits. I never thought I would get a CLI that was 8 times higher than my first credit cards credit limit. I never thought I would be able to add family members as AU's and rise their credit scores and help them. Learning how to manage credit cards properly is surely a great thing to do. I will also always continue to thank the MyFico forums for really letting me see how it all works.

A Big Thank you to everyone that posts or reads.
The more you learn the better chance you'll be able to help yourself or someone else in the future.

It's been over 3 and a half years since I obtained my first credit card and I've come so far in my understanding and milestones. Remember keep patient and stick to your game plan that's the key. I wish you all the best in your own journeys, goals and milestones.

Nice timeline breakdown of your CLI's. Gives

a small-timer like me some faith on when to

opt again (every 6 month'ish) for my Citi DC

increase.

Enlightening post: Joeaseer

Re: Citi DC CLI (10.5k to 14.5k)

Congrats on the increase! I've been getting $2k CLIs every six months for a couple of years. Nothing more - nothing less. There's always the option to do a HP request for more after the SP CLI, but I just pass on that. Costco card works the same exact way.
