Inspired by a post from @_ptatohed I applied for the new Comenity AAA Travel Advantage Visa card, a cashback card with 5% cash back on gas and EV charging, and 3% on groceries, dining, travel, and AAA products. It's one of two AAA cards being offered by Comenity now that it's replaced Bank of America as AAA's credit card partner.
I was instantly approved for $5200.
HP on EQ. EQ FICO 8 was 724. Some new accounts and recent inquiries. Pretty high utilization.
It provided a temporary 15-day shopping pass, to use before receiving the physical card, but I wasn't able to register that with a gas app so I'm not sure exactly what one can do with such a pass.
The application prompted me for my AAA number, but indicated that the field was "optional". I am an AAA member and input my number, so I don't know if AAA membership is or is not required to get the card.

I doubt that membership is required, because the older version of the AAA card -- issued by Bank of America -- did not require AAA membership.
