Last week I was looking at video cameras for an upcoming vacation in October. I was on Adorama's site and saw a great deal advertised for the camera I wanted. Instead of using one of my current credit cards I impulsively applied for credit to purchase. The camera I was looking for was $1200 which I have been saving for.
I made the application and got the 7-10 day message and thought to myself, "self this is the application that broke the camels back". Then I remembered I have a fraud alert on my account from an unfamiliar address I had disputed several months back. I got the Comenity letter today and it was to verify the details of my application. I just got off the phone with the accounts protection department and was approved for $3000 SL.
Went to Adorama's site and the camera is no longer on sale. I am stoked about the approval but bummed about not getting the great price. I guess you win some and lose some.
