I was so tempted to reply with "Congratulations to you.... thanks for sharing!" just to be a smart alec.
We all know who posts those on every single Approval thread ![]()

, i had NO idea
, The funny thing is that i was Congratulating as many people as possible mainly because i tend to feel sorry for people, i don't know why i am this way and i felt sorry for some people especially when they would post an approval and they would get 0 Congratulations or they would get almost 0, also i am the type of person that either i Congratulate Everybody or Nobody, i don't like to Congratulate some and NOT others, Another thing that i was doing is making sure i give 1 Kudos to Every Single person that would Post an Approval, Again i did that to make the person feel even better about their post, After all nobody likes ungrateful people or Ingrates, People like nice people or at least i like nice people but now that i know the Rules much better, From now on i would probably Congratulate 2 or 3 and that's it, Life would be much easier and simpler for me, since i don't like writting too much, Anyways, Thank you
I don't want you to congratulate me because you feel sorry for me
For me, it's not so much as feeling sorry, it's more about the genuine feeling of accomplishment after the struggle. Let's be honest, the struggle is REAL. I tend to avoid the post that are more geared towards ego/attention seeking. I'm NOT saying EGO IS BAD. We all have one, me included.
But I can literally feel post that the approval is appreciated because of the struggle, the "finally, I got it!!!!" It makes me excited reading it lol! It makes me happy!
@I do want to mention that I understand @Anonymous al perspective. I have seen posters on the bottom credit tier, but once they reach mid tier etc, they are snarky/rude/judgemental to new posters who ask the same questions that they asked weeks/months ago. It makes you want to protect them from that.
Example: new poster says "I finally got in with Barclay! So happy, been trying for a year! " Veteran poster "Barclays is awful! You should get a different/better card! Barclay is subprime!" Why would you do that to them?????
My congrats post are genuine. I try to stick to that standard.
Just my 2 cents.

And responses should be required to be at least 3 words...
Apparently there is a title, and rule for everthing (in a forum)....... So let me give my Congratulations to everyone now for any approvals, CLI's and successful rebuilds that you may be experiencing now and in the future. ![]()
@JagerBombs89 wrote:When I see stuff like this for a full page or two... I instantly think "thread bombing"
I spend a lot of time in the credit approval sections, I usually say a bit more than congrats if I want to commend a poster. Although, I do throw out some congrats here and there, usually I like to give a little more to the poster than just a high five but it happens from time to time.
I don’t think anyone should be afraid to post a congrats in moderation in line with the terms and conditions of the site. It’s more so saying congrats to every single poster over and over again, without any other kind of substance to your post. I think that if members new and old use their better judgment, you should have nothing to worry about with thread bombing. But if your comments are posted with the intention of destroying/killing the thread for everyone and the original poster along with unrelated comments, media etc. then you are thread bombing.
Sorry to be redundant, but I wouldn’t be afraid to post on here in the approvals section... just use your judgment and you will be fine.
It's not that difficult everyone. Just take a generic "congratulations" post and turn it into a complete sentence or two to personalize it. Sure it will take you 20 seconds instead of 5 seconds to do the post, but it's 10x more meaningful and wouldn't be seen as bombing.
"Congratulations on doubling your credit limit! As your profile strengthens no doubt your CL will continue to grow, so good work."
"Glad to hear about your approval here. The BCE is a great card and in 2 months you'll have an opportunity to triple that SL as well!"
Simple stuff really IMO.
A good general rule: If you could cut and paste your "congratulations" post into the next approval thread, it's not personalized.
