@Platinum wrote:Congrats !!! Thanks for sharing. That is a great starter limit for Discover. I was approved this September with 805 FICO for $3500 only. They increased it to $8500 few days ago with HP.
Thanks! Can I ask what your other cards limits are? My highest limit prior to them approving me was $10K with Nordstroms - could have been $15K since they offered it to me but I said I'd take $10K instead (dum dum move). Anyway my NFCU credit card has a limit of $23K but I was told that most banks don't look at what a CU has given out in credit. Could that be why Discover started me at $11,500?
My next lowest was Citi AAdvantage WMC at $20K.
Thanks for sharing. I don't know then, not sure why Discover decided to grant me the credit they did. I'm happy they did though

@CraveMazda wrote:I went on a mini spree, one of the cards I was approved for was the Discover IT card. It was an instant approval but no word on what the limit was. Somewhere on the board someone had posted that they saw the alerts settings pop-up which they thought gave an indication of the credit they were approved for. Using that logic my alert was set to $10,400. So I assumed my CL would be $10,500.
I got the notice that access to the website was set so i could login. I logged in to find that my credit limit is actually $11,500
Not bad...'
I still don't understand why they don't tell you what your limit is upon approval.
super starting CL! congrats
