It will be a sp. Had them increase me from 10k to 15.6k within 24hrs of approval. I actually asked for 20k and they countered. This card is great for the 0% promos and util. Try again once your dad's util goes down to 20% or less. Just make sure the bureaus report the new balances before requesting it. Good luck and WELCOME to credit!!

Like HellFico said I would request after a couple small uses and overall util is down... when my partners was approved for his tiny $500 and upped only to $800 next day we were using multiple cards for 0%... when I requested the CLI debt had either not changed or maybe even gone up a little bit but everything is currently condensed down to 2 Navy Cards and all the other cards that were pretty maxed before are $0 and they approved the $5k and then I was like wait... I want more if that's the case and went back and asked for $20k and got the counter for the $12k he has now!

since this is one of the GE cards that can't be manual reviewed and such you have to hit it just right on that funny internal GE computer and I bet when util. drops it will allow you a big increase. but make at least 4 statements and payments before requesting.
