@Brian_Earl_Spilner I think my $30,000 recon with Amex might blow a hole in your theory
Either way, it's ok. I'm sure it's just because I have no history with NFCU. I'll build it quickly and then I just know they will love me.
Be patient with Navy and grow your relationship. You will be pleased in the long run.

Congrats on the recon. When I spoke to underwriting about 4 or 5 days ago, they said corporate just sent out notice that reconsiderations were no longer allowed for the immediate future. I'm glad to see that they will still entertain them. They shouldn't cut them off completely and I felt it was a bad decision on their part.
Good luck with Navy. There's something about my profile they don't like. I still haven't got a second credit product from them and I just hit 2 years. Thankfully, they've started to give CLIs on my card. Maybe one day I'll get one of those big approvals.

I called Amex to recon the BCP, and the agent took the recon info, and sent it to UW. He told me that it might be Monday before I hear anything, and they may have to pull my credit report, yada yada.. right before we were about to get off the phone, he said wait a minute... it has just updated, and I am happy to report you have been approved!!! Wait for it..........
$30,000 SL!!!!! Well, that just officially kicked my little NFCU 1k CL's butt hahahaha.... My highest limit.. FINALLY!!!! And one of my goal cards. I AM SO FREAKING HAPPY!!!!!!! Thank you to all of you for all the support and virtual hugs.. I was so bummed this morning, but what a comeback!!!
Still waiting to hear about the NFCU recon, but I think this is enough to make me very **bleep** happy for now. woo hoo!!!

Isn't it funny how quickly things can turn around for the better? This credit stuff can shake you and bring you to your knees. Then all of a sudden, take you to the mountain top!! Very happy for you!! Good job in not giving up!
@Gmood1, Don't you just love the roller coaster ride?
@M_Smart007 I put over 200K through Amex cards last year, for crying out loud it was the least they could do!

As for Navy, recent DPs are showing they may have tightened up lately as well, with many people getting low starting limits and only $10 - 15k second cards.
@Brian_Earl_Spilner, I do beg to differ ...

Well, I don't hang out in approvals and every navy thread I've clicked on has supported what I said. Maybe it's skewed by not reading every thread, but there sure have been a lot of disappointed with navy threads lately, much more recently than in the entire 2 years I've been here.
I feel approvals are just as important part of the forum as any other part.
same would go for those who help people in the rebuild part of the forum, gardening too!
Have a nice day!

Can you tell??😆
@M_Smart007 I troll the approvals way more than I should because a) I am a masochist, and b) I like to live vicariously through others' joy
