I applied for my Discover it Student card a little over a year ago when I was a student. I only received a 6 month 0% APR time frame so I didn't really take advantage of it, but then I read somewhere that they often offer retention/promo offers through their online chat. So I opened up a chat session and asked if they had any retention offers, they offered me a 12 month 0% APR.
Then I got to thinking...now that I'm no longer a full-time student I decided to let them know and see what happens. (I was hoping for a CLI, as my 30-day mini CLI train seemed to have stopped). I was told to update my college graduation date online, so I updated my info...and nothing happens, but a month later I get an email with a 2x CLI (from 3k to $6k) and a separate email notifying me they've reduced my APR as well. Though that doesn't matter as I'm on a 12 month 0% APR promo, and I never carry a balance.
Discover is really showing me some love, with the 12 month 0% APR "retention offer", respectable CLI, and reduced APR.
