I have stalked this website for a while but after applying for an AMEX and being denied last year, I have been scared to apply for anything else. I had a 90 day+ delinquent student loan that I was SO LUCKY to get to speak with someone and have it removed from my credit report, and after that my credit score bounced back almost immediately but I have still been hesitant to apply.
Today I was checking the prequal sites like I do every once in a while and Discover had the 13.24-16.24% APR like it has had the past few times I've checked but for some reason today I decided to pull the trigger and I am so excited I did!
I got approved for $5,500!!!
I was only expecting MAYBE $1000-2000 if approved since I have read that they tend to start low but grow fast, so when I saw that number I was shocked but so excited. I hope I end up enjoying this card as much as a lot of people on here do...I only have one other card that isn't a store card and that is my Citi Forward that I initially got years ago as the student MTVU card or whatever it was in 2009. I had a $4,000 starting limit on that one which was super high for me being only 19 and not much history when I got it, but I never got a CLI until last month and they moved me up to $6,050. I'm so excited to have my Discover starting so close to what that one took me forever to get to!
