I waited until my March statement just printed, because I want to see what happens when the balance goes from over 30% (February statement) to something under 30% (this March statement at 26%). Thought about waiting some more, but nah, went ahead, and did the CLI.
$6k increase. Bam!
History of CLI:
Started at $5k in 2012. Maxed a BT offer and paid down.
Mail offer May 2014 for a temporary $3k CLI for 12 months, to $8k. Maxed out with a 0% APR BT to $7,740 balance. Added spend, paid down to $900 by March 2015. Then another $2,500 0% BT onto the card.
Expired temporary CL, CLD back down to $5k May 2015.
May 16 2015 CLI $1k to $6k.
Paid down to reach zero September 16, 2015
Sept 23 2015 CLI $500 to $6,500, called and got a 0% BT, and supposed 0% on purchases for a year. Proceed to charge and BT up to $3,300 in December. Had to call to re-set up the 0% on purchases for 12 months.
Nov 1 2015 CLI $1,500 to $8,000
March 18 2016 CLI $6,000 to $14,000, latest statement balance $2,060 on the $8k CL. Payments have been on autopay for $333 per month for a while now, plus I try to pay "new charges" on the statement, to keep the BT on a glide path to zero.
Nice Congrats!!!!!
Nice and thanks for sharing your timeline on it.
Steady progress.
Congrats!

I finally got a decent CLI myself on my Discover It of $1500. Started 13 months ago with 5K and today at 8.5K!
Congrats!

seems like they've offered you 0% for 2 years lol
The latest ask in September was due to the Apple Pay activation at 10% for late 2015. That's where I found out they don't send BT offers in snail mail anymore, the BT offers just sit waiting on your on line account.
I also found out, it is not a good idea to talk with a Discover CSR about two things in the same call. He said he activated the 0% purchases for a year (which was a counter offer to my ask for an APR reduction from 18.24%) but the actual purchases 0% APR activation got derailed and thus not completed when I asked about BT offers. I had to call in again after the next statement to get the 0% Spend offer really activated. All is well now.
