Hey guys and gals,
I have a Discover IT CashBack that I just got approved for in July with a $5k Starting Limit.
I hit the Limit Increase button on Discovers website, and got $300 CLI, total of $5300.
I then called them to request additional credit.
They did it but with a hard inquiry, I said why not. BOOM! $2k more for a total of $7300.
They pulled Transunion and I had a bunch of recent inquiries too. I think she manually reviewd it.
The card was opened July 18th and I requested the increase around October 6 so it was around 80 days.
Also I put like $10k on the card last month and paid in full after balances posted.
I also requested a $2k cash advance at a casino, which was paid in full. (Im saying this because someone stated on the forum that a cash advance was preventing him/her from getting a CLI..)
Hope this data helps some of you!
Yeah I was going to correct myself lol but oh well. Still happy with any additional credit.
I have a good amount of cards but missing high limits. Discover is my highest limit right now.
Just got my Cathay Pacific Visa from $2500 to $6000 same day as well.
So yeah
Good stuff, m92. Congrats! on a solid CLI.
Questions: what are your Fico scores like? did you win @ the casino?
Congratulations and thank you for sharing the data points!
I would say that is a decent haul. Getting the $300 with an SP is considered a good deal. I would question the benifit of using a HP for 2k but considering that it is on your largest card it might make sense for you as it will push the other lenders into the territory as well.
Regardless congradulations on the improvement.
Thanks guys!
Yeah I'm trying to get this card over $10k asap!
BTW guys, how often should I request a Discover CLI?
