Discover CLI LUV, Amex not so much

Requested cli on Discover last week and received notice of review needed. Forgot all about it figuring it would be denied as I believe my last request was approved last May, only the second request I had made since opening 9/1999. Received email today stating the cli approved 17k to 21.5k. Hit button on 2 Amex cards, received $200 bucks on 1 bringing cl to 10.4k, the second one was denied. Oh well, I will show discover some extra love this month.

I've had the total opposite. AMEX has been showing me lots of love with very minimal usage yet I've been showing Discover love because of the 5% category which means the AMEX BCE has been neglected. Here's my history/DP

6/2017 $500 CLI, $8.5K CL

9/2017 $500 CLI, $9K CL

Nothing on anniversary month

4/2018 $4500 CLI, $13.5K CL

10/2018 $1000 CLI, $19K CL

1/2019 90 and 91 day declined

AMEX BCE

5/2018 approved $15K

7/2018 req $5K 61 day cli $20K

1/2019 req $10K 180 day cli $30K

Looks like I left some on the table on both req's.

Not much usuage either, $1k to trigger bonus and $200 in groceries per 2018 YES
