Last December, I was approved for my second Discover IT card. My initial SL was nearly twice that of my first Discover IT card, but still only $6,000.
Today, I applied online for a CLI and was given a paltry $500 more. I called in and was transferred to Discover's Credit Operations Center in Utah. The CSRs were very pleasant and professional, and offered me another $500, brining by SL up to $7,000.
I told them that AMEX recently granted me a SL of $24K on my BCP card, and asked why Discover is being relatively stingy with SL. The CSR said, "We tend to be a more conservative lender." Not sure what that means, but she added that I can apply for another CLI every 30 days. I thanked her and told her how grateful we all are for Discover's SP CLIs.
