Re: Discover It Approval

@JoshSF

my card started at $500 6yrs ago and remained at that limit for 5yrs.

I always carried a balance. Maxed out.

I'd pay $50 a month on it and just turn it around and use it again over and over.

I got my first CLI a year ago after going two months without using the card.

There seems to be no rhyme or reason for the upgrades.

People are getting upgraded without ever carrying a balance and there are people like me who have carried a balance since day 1.

In the 6yrs that I have had the card, it has never been paid in full.

My balance currently sits at $1200

Hope this helps.

@Total80sKid

Congrats! That is an awesome SL. I  had a similar experience when I got my first Amex at 5K. I only had a 2K CapOne at the time and about fainted when i saw the approval screen. Hope you enjoyed the adrenaline rush.

Now you've got me itching to app Discover. I shouldn't though, I need to garden.

This is the problem with the Approvals board... lol.

Re: Discover It Approval

Discover is indeed an odd animal.

Over the July 4th weekend, I applied Venture, 15000 instant.  BCP, 10000 literally 1min after recon.  PRG instant.   And now discover, instant but only 1250.  They even pulled both EQ and EX, making me even unhappier.  Although there is 18 months something like no APR, and my apr was 13.x something, I dont know what to do with 1250...since I mostly eat out,  about 4k-5k a month.  The only reaon I applied for Discover was 5%, maybe 10% a year later, cashback.

Re: Discover It Approval

Maybe I got a higher SL because I had no cards even close to that limit?

My highest reporting card when I got approved was my $2500 Target REDcard.

Who knows why, but I'm certainly happy with it!

Hopefully you will get quick CLI's Smiley Happy
