Wook up yesterday to an e-mail from discover with the subject line of "Congradulations" as i eagerly opened this email i was surprised to see that they were returning my 200$ secured card deposit and upping my credit limit to $1,500! Happy as i am i found this odd as from what i read on the forums i was under the impression this normally only happened after a statement cut. My discover statement doesnt cut until the 6th of each month (Yesterday was the 26th).
I did just get a huge credit increase though for finishing up my student loan forgiveness program, bringing my average FICO score up to over 700 now ( I was around 580 when i got the secured card).
Anyhow i just wanted to brag a little bit and relish in my credit victories. I started out this journey last November when i got out of prison. I had a student loan in collections and an average score of 540. No credit cards and no credit to speak of. Capital one gave me a unsecured card with a $300 which is now a $500 limit. I got a $200 secured Navy Federal card that graduated to a $2,000 unsecured card last month. And now my $200 Discover card just graduated as well! My current scores hover around 700 for all 3 bureaus. This is more than i ever would of hoped faster than i ever could of imagined! Thank you all for your advice, posts, and most of all for keeping me from accepting those sub-prime offers that came in the mail when i needed some extra cash.
I'm meeting with a loan officer in a few weeks to see if i can't buy a condo for the same monthly cost as my rent payments. I never thought id even be having this discussion within the next few years let alone the 8 months its been. These forums are amazing and i can't thank you all enough.
Congratulations on your progress and keep it up!!!
Congrats on your graduation! Its a step in the right direction. Best of luck on your road to recovery. Put your mind to it and you'll get there. Good Luck!
Congrats on The New Grad.

Congratulations. By "last November" do you mean Nov. 2018, 9 months ago? If so, way to go! (Impressive still if it was Nov. 2017)
