I just checked my discover card account today and i saw that I earned $2.67 this period even though i spent over $1,000 this past cycle, so i figured i was getting 1% cash back so that should have been $10 in cash back so I called them up and they imformed me that I was getting 0.25% untill i spend $3,000 and i asked if that Discover IT card they keep advertising for earns 1% right away and they said yes and they asked if i wanted to be transfered over to an " IT specialist" and i said yes and i was transfered and i confirmed what she said and I asked if i had to wait so many months to convert my card over to the IT card since i just got my account in November 2012 and they said no that I can do IT right now and my account conversion will be complete by the begining my next billing cycle of March 21st and a new card will be expidited just before that and I will recieve all the program disclosures in the mail by then as well, and all my other account info will stay the same, such as account number and my 0% interest till January 21st 2014.
This is awesome that they are able to do this for me. I'm sure that are doing this for alot more other people as well but at any rate IT makes me feel special. I should have realized IT sooner cuz I lost out on like $7.33 cash back since i wasnt earning a full 1%
I thought I was since the cash back was building up so quickly but i realized it was cuz of the 2% offers i took advantage of twice and the 5% through shopdiscover i was earning.
The only thing i will lose is earning 5% cash back equal to any interest charges if i deside i keep streatchng payments out after my 0% interest offer runs out.
I know I have seen some things about converting to Discover IT on this forum before but I just thought I would share my story with you guys anyaway, to let you all know how i'm doing with my credit!
thats great news i too just got my self the all new it card and im sure u still can take advantage of the 5% back with your new card u just have to sign up for the diff quarterly incenitives like jan1 thru march was restaraunts and movies april thru june is home improvement and sumthn else but its a great card

ya i'll get those 5% offers each quarter they said, but now after my 0% interest offer runs out i just wont earn 5% cash back from interest charges, like i would if i would keep the Motiva rewards program instead of switching to IT.
Oh well I don't really see myself having to always keep carrying a balance, I mean sure if i rack up a nice balance i might choose to take 2 months to pay it back instead of 3 or i might take 3 months to pay it back instead of 3 years.
Like my bil says if i keep paying the $35 minimum a month it wil take me 3 years to pay it off and i would have paid like $21 more than my orgional balance was which basically eats my cash back so no thank you.
I will pay my cards in full almost all the time and if i have to carry a balance i will pay it off in few months instead of a few years as long as everything keeps working out for me like it has so far!
Holy run on sentences, Batman!

CONGRATS on the PC!!!
Definitely a better card than MORE but they could be more lenient with CLI's!
