Re: Exxon gas card

This is not a very good card.  I cancelled mine last year despite its 44 years of history on my credit report.

Gas cards were big back in the 70's. Not so much now. I got one when I started my rebuild 4.5 years ago b/c I wanted one in my profile.

While I keep hearing store cards hurt one's FICO score, I'm happy with my Shell card.  I get 5¢ off per gallon PLUS another 5¢ off for being a Shell Rewards member.  Since I've already successfully mortgaged my new home (Sept. 2017) I'm willing to take that little FICO hit to save that extra nice 10¢ per gallon.
