Finally In With Citi

They have hated me forever it seems. I applied and got the 7-10 message and figured it was a Denial. Today I got the congrats email.

Thank you Premier
AF waived first year (hopefully I can convert then)
30k Bonus TY Points with 3k Spend
$10,500 Limit (not best-not worst-right In the middle)
Pulled EX-770 or so. Tons of INQs but only 4 in last year.
1% Utilization

Now wondering if I should try for #2

Re: Finally In With Citi

Thanks. APR is either 15.74%. Not sure if that is good or not. I never look because I don’t ever carry a balance.

Re: Finally In With Citi

No History with Citi. Best Buy but they are Citifinancial. Never had any bad accounts with them. They just always denied me for INQs before. I still have tons but only 4 in the last year so that Prob did it.

Re: Finally In With Citi

Thx Dino. I don’t give up easily.

I’m trying to find posts on second citi cards. Wondering if I should try my luck or wait 6 mo and then apply. Really want the DC card as well.

Re: Finally In With Citi

Citi has the 8/65/95 rule:

  • One card then a second card at day 8 or after
  • No more than 2 personal cards in 65 days
  • No more than 1 business card in 95 days

Most folks like to wait 65 days just for the second card but I haven't seen data points confirming that's a requirement.
