@Ysettle4 wrote:Applied 2 days ago for the Alaska Air as I do quite a bit of travel out west and it went to review. Called in immediately to only learn that it eventually became a denial due to a previous BoA account. No surprise. So, I asked for a reconsideration and pleaded my case to the hilt. I defintely put my best case forward on this one..
I decided to check the app status, hoping for the worst -- another denial. However, it seems my fortunes have changed:
I was amazed, to say the least. I quickly called in to make sure....Yep. It was approved. Not only was I approved for $9K, which is quite decent, but it was also for the lowest rate of 12.74%. Unbelievable. I almost never get a card's best rate.
Some background: roughly 5 years ago I had a joint BoA LOC opened with my then Ex because their credit couldn't qualify so I did what any supportive spouse does, I joined as a co-applicant to secure it. Things with sour and they skipped on the tab -- without my knowledge and it went to a CO status. It was settled eventually for less than the actual balance. Ever since this took place, BoA has continued to denied me on all apps. ALL I tell ya. I've tried every angle with the latest effort of getting a virgin america card in hopes BoA acquires the portfolio.
Question is now, do I keep the virgin america? Will it be acquired by BoA? I've met the spend for the bonus thus far so that's covered.
I can tell ya, I'm quite happy!
Made me do a take from the pepsi commercial -- this is must be how CreditCuriousity felt when he got approved for a Citi card
Awesome results! Doing my happy dance for you!
