Re: Finally off Chase Blacklist

I was surprised when the "pre approved" offer appeared on the Experian website with a specific APR rather than a range. Considering how much I burned Chase, I had expected to be blacklisted forever. Two days after the live member of the verification team told me I had been approved, I called the robo lady who also said I was approved.  When it's in my hand I'll believe it.  I got it primarily to use the 0% BT, but I also want to rebuild my relationship with Chase in order to apply for the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless.  I'm a Titanium member of Marriott Bonvoy and a frequent customer of Marriott.  I'm thinking I should wait until next January before I poke the giant again. Any thoughts?

Re: Finally off Chase Blacklist

Received my Freedom Flex credit card in the mail today.  Yay!

I immediately activated it and activated this quarter's bonus categories.  I will be working to satisfy requirements for my SUB.

I can now officially conclude I am off Chase's blacklist.  As I stated above I will caress this card for 12 months and then apply for the card I really want as a "Marriott regular," the Chase Bonvoy Boundless.

Thanks to everyone here for advice and encouragement throughout this process.

Re: Finally off Chase Blacklist

Thanks Spectre7_Reup.  I'm pleased, but I really want the Chase Marriott Boundless.  My plan is to wait until January when the Freedom Flex is one year old.  Until then, there will be no apps and I'll be paying down existing balances.

Re: Finally off Chase Blacklist

Another Chase burner. Though not for as much as you, we burned them in 2009 as a result of the Great Recession. Declared BK7 in 2009 and I did not get back in with them until 2020. I'd signed up for Chase Credit Journey, and was shocked one day when I logged in and saw preapproval for Freedom, FU, and CSP. I was approved for CSP with a very nice SL and their lowest advertised rate, and have had auto CLIs since then.

Sometimes, all it takes is time. Congrats on getting back in!

Re: Finally off Chase Blacklist

Long time occasional lurker..

Me too. Burned 2009 CC. Apped CC 2022 and first denial reason was relationship. Have had auto loan and co-branded CC since then with perfect handling so those don't matter for blacklists. Will try CC again in 6-12m. I need to find out my number with them!
