@AllZero  is correct that anyone can join. The association was mentioned as a requirement, but I was approved for savings account, and they never asked about it again. NCFU looks like they tend to be more generous to others, but they do require you or close relative have military connection.

I'll admit I was expecting $5-6K SL at most and hoping it wasn't less. BK13s seems to have a slower recovery with SLs than BK7 which is the opposite of general thought outside of this community.

@AnonymousI think it was a banner on yahoo mail or something like that. Seems like I see 20+ Penfed ads a day here lately. I'll look agin and let you know if I can find it. Definitely not on Penfed site or in an email from them as I have been looking. Someone else mentioned it in the last few weeks on a Penfed thread. Their rate was a little higher but term was 72mo I believe.

@Anonymous  I stand corrected. I looked through deleted email, and it was included in a Penfed email telling me my statement was ready. It had banners for every type of loan and CC and of course Turbo Tax. This was near the bottom.
