My 6th statement cut a couple weeks ago and I really want to get my Chase CLI higher (you can see in my siggy it's my lowest CL
) 5% for holiday shopping is awesome!
At the moment my profile looks like:
Discover - 2995/10000
Citi - 300/4500
BofA - 191/1000
Freedom, cap1, macys, walmart - 0
Chase Amazon Visa (AU) 0/1500
No baddies, perfect payment history, AAoA 1 year
5 inquiries
My questions are:
1. How much should I ask for at the most?
2. Should I wait until my BofA statement cuts on the 12th and let it report a 0 balance? (I'm kind of impatient
)
Since its a HP anyway and BofA shouldn't make a difference with the low balance
Shoot for the sky and worst case they counter offer
Good luck and let us know

Does Chase counter offer?
It looks like you shouldn't have a problem getting a CLI! Ask for a lot more than you would be happy with. That way they will likely give you a counter offer.
Ask for $25k and yes they will counter... I would call directly into backdoor credit number so you can be speaking to the person with the authority and be prepared to just tell them why you want so high:
"Chase is my favorite card and im trying to bring more business to you but I just can't with the current credit lines and while I don't need $25k for monthly charging I worry about my utilization and I think with that credit line if I charge $5k in a month I still will not hurt my credit for utilization, etc. blah blah!!

Yes
So here's the results:
I called the number on the back of the card and asked them to match my Citi limit (4.5k). They asked me the usual questions and CSR approved me for 1k (only 300 CLI, way too low). So I called the backdoor recon number to see if they would go higher. Credit analyst reviewed my report and said the highest they could go is 2k because my accounts are still young. 2K isn't bad, I'll take it ![]()
