In 2013 I went through a health issue and burned AMEX with a chargeoff. I ended up settling for less than full amount some time in 2014. I knew I was blacklisted based on peoples information here. Now the chargeoff is still on my CR for another 8 months.
I always wanted to get back in their good graces and try to get an AMEX card again. So the other day I went and did a prequal for the hell of it, expecting to get no approvals. Well to my surprise I had 5 cards that I was pre -qualified for. I sat back pondering if I should apply since buying a home is out of the question for now.
So I went ahead and applied for the BCP card, and the screen was churning for about 30 seconds, then it asked if I wanted to add any other people to the card? What?
I passed on that offer and hit continue....APPROVED FOR 20K!! HOLY COW!
Thank you AMEX for another chance!
So there is hope for others.
