Geez, this Alaska Airlines CC approval (12K CL) took long enough

I'm ready for those miles!

Here's some details:
I'm a long time banking customer of Bank of America - almost all my adult life (except for a brief few years after The NationsBank & BofA merger - I decided to exit and watch things from the outside)

Household income is slightly over 300K, I make significantly more than my husband. (We're both Engineers)

Current scores in low 700's across the board, I had let util run a little high until my husband got a better job last year - he's about 2 years out of college. Since then I've been aggressively paying down all debt and we're now just sub 30% total util across all accounts, with most reporting 0% now. Have 1 account with late pays falling off end of this year, no other baddies. When updates post this coming cycle util should be below 10%.

No inquiries in the past year, 20 year credit history, 6 year AAoA.

Highest credit limit: 19K BofA card, have cards with citi, amex, chase, discover, and some synchrony bank store/credit cards. Highest limit on store card is 12K, other CCs is 10K (Aside from BofA).

I called BofA to check the limit: 12K
Approval took 1.5 weeks (Screenshot below). I believe the review message said something like 15 days, so I was checking the status page every once in a while since then. Not sure why it took so long. I did a CLI on my other card, not instant but showed up next day, while I was waiting in the meantime.

I fly Alaska a lot now since we're in the PNW and have really really really been wanting this card! They are a fabulous airline and the miles bonus will definitely be welcome, along with the companion fare.

Thanks for sharing. Good to know it took about 10 days for them to move from 'under review' to 'approved'. I just applied for the same card and have been waiting for a week now.

Congrats on the approval!
I got it almost a year ago and I just got a chance to use my free companion ticket. It's saving me about $1k on a trip to Hawaii with a stopover in CA. Pretty excited about it
DW also got her own card so we can do this twice a year or take the kids with us at half cost.
