Just as a bit of ironic follow up to this, SunTrust was the denial that started this off for me and on the 2nd of Jan sent me an email with this in the subject "Here is the credit card opportunity you've been waiting for." and in the the first 2 sentences of the body, "You don't want this to pass you by! You’re prequalified."
Suspense is not until March, so not sure what to do with it?

You are absolutely right. I called and actually had a CS rep tell me that and added that typically wait time to reapply is 6 months after a denial. Wondered for a minute what could have been and then remembered you win some and lose some. My comment on not sure what to do was directed at the whether or not to reapply in the future. Still achieved my goal, so no worries.
