Golden 1 Credit Union approved!

I applied and was approved for their Visa card the last week of August. I've been waiting to post until I had the card up and running, and it looks like everything is going smoothly.

Golden 1 CU is open to anyone who lives or works in California, or has a family member with a current G1CU account. I joined in my local branch by opening a basic no-fee savings account. Minimum deposit is $1, but I splurged with $5. Then I asked about their Platinum Visa. The rep submitted my app and I was instantly approved for $5000. Their minimum SL is $2000, and honestly I would've been happy with that, but I am not complaining. My APR is their lowest, at 9.79%.

The card arrived in the mail the following week. I immediately phoned and asked to change the due date. No problem, since I hadn't used the card yet. That change went through the next day and I started using it right away. This is a very nice cashback card for year-round 3% on groceries, gas, and restaurants (not fast food). The CB dollars will be posted to my savings account.

They pulled Experian, which was 777 that day. Today's updated score is 772.

but I do know 5K is better then 2K ;-)
