Was looking at details about the HSBC cash rewards mastercard....3% cash back first year, 10% of rewards earned bonus every anniversary, 15.24% interest and 1.5% cash back after the first year, but does not have a SUB. 0% interest for 12 billing cycles. The final determinative factor is a free monthly equifax fico score, although it was not defined which model is used, but I am hoping it is fico 08. We all know how rare free equifax fico 08 scores are. Instant approval with 9500 credit limit, which is lower than my usual starting limit. At least for the first year this will be my go-to card with that 3% cash back on up to 10000 spend in the first year. Never have dealt with HSBC, so if someone can tell me which version of equifax fico score they provide monthly I will appreciate it.
My only dissappointment was the small credit limit...It has been a long time since my SL was under 10K, and whatever I start with is as high aqs it goes. Once they find out I always PIF, and usually even before the closing date, they have little incentive to do a CLI.
@sarge12 Congrats on your approval

Thanks, now after getting my planned 2 cards since jumping out of the garden it is time to grab my hoes and rakes and head back to the garden.
Congrats on your approval! If nobody else knows what score they provide, please do let us know when you find out
Congrats on your HSBC Card. You actually got a fairly decent SL compared to others.
some get $3-5K or less as i have seen in some approval threads. I was fortunate to get over $10K.
conservative lender, dont expect an auto CLI. and line increases are HP. And it is not that much usually.
No FICO scores to be found on the phone APP or Website which leaves navigation a chore.
My card stays mostly in the sock drawer. I pull it out every 6 months for a meal or a tank of Gas,
just to keep it alive. just padding at this point. You might call them about the FICO score thingy?.
Congrats on your approval and not a bad SL for HSBC... Shocked it was an instant approval do you bank with them as well as instant approvals with them are basically unheard of unless you already have some type of account with them.

I am in awe about the instant approval as well. Based on all the DPs I’ve read is that when you app stateside they print your app then snail mail to Hong kong to approve or deny then they do the same then snail mail again to Shanghai for SL decisions before finally being sent back here for Security/ID verification! Sent back to Shanghai again for Card production until finally after 4-8 weeks you receive your card.
