Hilton AMEX- weird email

Got an email from Hilton Honors to apply for their AMEX.  Which I was planning on doing in a few months but my wife has a work trip coming up that it would be nice to bank the points for.  EX score of 653 and it came back as pending review 14 days.  So I'm assuming I'm denied, but then I get an email from AMEX with an account ending number saying that an email address has been added to my account.  I don't have an account with AMEX, does this mean I'm approved and just have to wait to hear about it?  Or is this part of the review?

Have you checked Amex's application status website?

Re: Hilton AMEX- weird email

I'd check approval site, like mentioned. Looks like you may have a new Amex. I was approved about a year ago for their Hilton Honors with a 650 score, so it's completely possible

Re: Hilton AMEX- weird email

Thank you for the link.  I do indeed have a new AMEX.  This is the third time I've applied for it.   That knocks off one of my goal cards for the year.

Congratulations on the card! What did they start you out at? I'm thinking of going for that one myself.

3rd time seems to be the charm!  It's a good indicator when you see the last 4-5 digits of an account number in an e-mail!!!  You'll probably have the card by the end of the week in the mail.

Re: Hilton AMEX- weird email

What's a good credit score to apply for the card. I have a 645 EX score ??

Re: Hilton AMEX- weird email

I was at 653 when I applied, I've heard others with scores as low as 630.  I think it helps if you already have a Hilton Honors account when you apply, but I have no data to back that up.
