I've been getting pre-approved offers for Discover for about 6 months +. I had applied about 10 months ago or so and they offered a card if I had a co-applicant. I don't have one of those, so I couldn't get the card. I've been waffling on it for about 6 months now because it seemed like a genuine offer, but I wasn't sure if I needed it or I'd actually be approved. My mom convinced me to and I closed my eyes when I hit submit.
I got approved, and once I went through to see the credit limit, I almost dropped dead - $6500!!! I never thought it would be that much! My highest credit limit by $2500. I'm thrilled! I'm not sure what my Fico's are (beyond Experian of 683 from my AMEX), but I've got some old student loans that were defaulted and have 120+ lates on there (quite a few from a 4+ years ago) and 3 medical collections, all totaling under $1k.
I'm just gonna sit over here and breathe for a little while til my heart stops pounding.
