Home Depot Approval and CLI Q...

My husband apped in store and was approved for $1000. He was there for flooring and the associate told him to call and ask for a CLI. He came home and called the next day (yesterday). He asked for $10K and it was approved but he was told that it would be a second HP. Is this correct? So far only one 1 enquiry has hit his report and that came through this morning from EQ.

Actually, I see an enquiry on EX as well from the day he apped. EQ was yesterday when he called for the CLI.

Yes, Home Depot did a 2nd hard pull for me also after I was approved

Thanks, I read that others were able to get CLI's using the same the HP so it seemed odd but I guess not!

I did not get a second hard pull, but I a called for a cli the same day and reminded them they had already pulled my credit.  You needed and wanted the extra credit though, so it is most likely worth it for you. The same thing has happened to me with other lenders. I wanted the cli so it was worth it to me.

I guess he should have asked for $25K but he just wanted enough to put the utilization at 30%.

Yes, I got 2 for doing this but it was worth it.  Went from 600.00 to 15k.  I would do it again.  It's Citi.
