Home Depot Approval

Exciting because I burned Citi in 1998 with my first ever credit card as a freshman in college.  I was clueless.  I tried HD and Citi in 2014 right after my mortage with a 720ish credit score and got denied for past relationships.  So while I've heard of experiences all over the board, they were still mad at me 16 years later, but decided to let me back sometime between year 17 and 22.

Credit Line - $1000

TU Fako - 680

TU Inquiries - 4

No collections

2 Settled Chargeoffs from early 2015

1 Late in Past year, 4 Lates in Past 2 Years (almost gone)

1 Auto and 3 New Revolving Accounts in last 6 mo

I called to recon the starting line, but it didn't work out.  I'm grateful to get the relationship started and consider myself lucky to be approved with a late payment only 6 months removed.

Hopefully this puts me on a good path with Citi.  Hope to start seeing some pre-approvals next year.

Re: Home Depot Approval

Congrats. I sure hope that will be your last late payment. Such a good thing they approved you under circumstances. What CB did they pull?

Re: Home Depot Approval

The pulled Experian.  I'm around 660, but don't have an official number.  And...yes...There will never be another late payment unless I experience some sort of tremendous hardship.  I allowed some years to pass where I put my head in the sand and the DW handled all of my finances.  I went to finance a car in February and it was a wake up call.  But that story is for another subforum.
