Good News! I just called Home Depot (800-677-0232)

and asked for increase on the $500 SL

I asked for $5000 and they approved it!

I hope I didn't leave money on the table

but $5000.00 SL is good enough for now!!

I told them that we are in a new home and need appliances...and that is true.

My Fico is 646

You can call in anytime.  Don't need the card in hand.  I called the next day as they were closed that night.  Ask for a high amount and see what they come back with.

I can assume hitting the "Request Increase" link on my account page would result in a hard inquiry, unlike CAP1 that is a soft inquiry?

I just applied got the 2 weeks message nothing was pulled yet. So I may give them a week and if still no credit pull I will call next weekend.
