Re: Home Depot Consumer Card

For those that have Home Depot Citi card after BK (with BK still showing on your files) did you show a good pre qualify when you checked or cold app?

I’m not showing a pre qual when I check, but my scores are well over 700. Was curious of my chances with Best Buy and Home Depot.

Thanks!

Re: Home Depot Consumer Card

I did NOT have any Citi or Citi branded cards that went through my bankruptcy. For the record even though I didn’t have an AMEX, Citi, or Chase card run through bankruptcy or not have I ever been approved for one, ever time I have applied the response is always the same....BK on file is a denial unless you’re lucky after 5-7yrs

Where would you see a prequel for a store card? I didn't have Best Buy or Home Depot cc's before my BK. I just cold apped. I had the Citi Thankyou Preferred cc that was included in my BK for over 5K.

Have you tried getting back in with Citi via their secured card? You would be able to get it since they were not IIB. I want the Citi Double Cash card. I would probably be declined. I tried for Discover's secured card to get back in with them, but they declined me due to previous relationship because they were IIB.

Re: Home Depot Consumer Card

On the Home Depot website you can do a pre qualify check for their consumer card.

I’ve always shown not to pre qualify. I assumed due to my BK I wouldn’t until it dropped off my reports. Sounds like that’s not the case and if I want the cards to just cold app.

Best Buy does not have a pre qualify option, you are correct.

Thanks for the help with the DPs!

Re: Home Depot Consumer Card

No problem cf2701. You should be fine getting both cards especially since your scores are above 700.
