no that was with my initial attempt to just go through the hoops with DCU. They said they were right and I was wrong blah blah blah. After NCUA I got the letter saying I was right and they were wrong!

And that's all it is. Just a temporary experience that can easily be made up for. 
This experience and a few others who have posted about the strange happenings with that CU is good heads up for everyone else.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree. They are a very good CU with very low APR for car loans. But in this case OP tried to get dual approval which might caused them to do manual review and close the approved card as well.
