Glyph (iPhone app thingy) sent me a message telling me that some Discover cardmembers got 2% cashback for June. I chatted online, was told I didn't qualify, and rattled off a bunch of other things I hadn't qualified for, and was told my feedback would be forwarded on.
A few days later:
Congratulations! We're pleased to inform you that your outstanding credit management in the first year has earned you a credit line increase on your Discover® card.
The new credit line on your Discover card account is $650, of which your cash credit line is $300.
In the coming months, we will continue to evaluate your account in the first year and may continue increasing your credit line if you qualify. If you would prefer not to receive automatic credit line increases, simply give us a call at 1-800-347-3085.
Your increased buying power makes Discover card a great choice for all your purchases.
I got my card in February. Is this normal, or did my complaining actually get me somewhere?
it's work somehow...
Probably the latter.
what was your starting CL? 500.00?
Discover is extremely conservative on CLIs so I would say your complaining helped!!

$500, cash advance line didn't change. Any idea how long it would take for me to get up to $2500? I plan to take out a student loan to get computer equipment and software, and any little bit of cashback would help. (I make about 14000 a year, so I realise, 'not any time soon' is a possible answer).
This letter sounds so familiar! I got exactly the same letter after holding my discover more for 4 months. So I would say, it's typical. Your CL is also exactly the same as what I have now (look at my siggy)
But no more CLI after this February.

I had friends making $10,000 a year who have $5k limits from Chase. I say use Discover a few more months, then app for something like Amex BCE/ Chase Freedom.
Wouldn't that be the exception in this economy? Should I got BCE or Freedom? What should my AAoA be? It's pretty low considering I picked up the store cards a couple months ago.

Very nice siggy. No more CLI, why?

I don't know why they won't give me another CLI. I am still quite heavily using it. Perhaps not time yet?
