Joined BECU and got approved for Credit Card in 7 hours

Hi all,First off this approval and most of the information I used to obtain it

was from a post I read from @Df82. Great Data Points and technical info on his post. 

That being said I joined Northwest Credit Union Foundation this morning 

at about 8:30 by donating $20.00. Got a confirmation code by email NOCU45XXX<not real #'s>

I'm speculating that NOCU part of the confirmation means No Credit Union.

They ask if you belong,or want to belong,to about 5 different Credit Unions when you apply. 

Again I would refer you to Df82's post for more specific questions.

About 10 minutes after that I applied to join BECU as that's the only way you

can get their cards and loan products,banking etc.

Started app. asked how I was qualified to join,one of the options was

Friend of The Foundation. I checked that box and that was it.

Did not need to put in Membership # or anything.

Filled out the rest of the very non intrusive answers and submitted.

I actually switched from Verizon to Comcast this morning so wifi was out

awhile but afterwards I signed on to my email and BECU said Thumbs Up

Thanks for joining a great non profit CU blah blah blah.

Then went to online banking and applied for their low Low Rate Visa,

though I will probably switch to cash back. Only two financial questions 

if I remember monthly gross salary Put 5K amount of mortgage or rent put 1,300.00

finished up the app with about 3 places for electronic consent and hit submit.

Wheel spun for about a minute then went pending. I thought 

"**bleep** I didn't think it would be that easy!"

I was wrong. Email alert popped up and it was from BECU  Consumer Lending via Docu Sign

Said All required parties have electronically reviewed and signed the documents

for your loan application. BECU will now process your loan request etc etc.

All I had to do was go into check loan status on their site and there it was approved 

for $10,500.00. That was all. No further documents needed. Now the biggest questions

I have read have been about external checking to pay off CC's and I have no answers for that yet.

I just opened a checking and savings and I have not even funded them yet.

Did not need to to get a Credit Card. Thanks again to everyone for all the

What a blessing. Very easy process! Still trying to decide if I want to apply for the LOC. I already have $15K (NFCU) & $10K (Penfed)

Df82, it was a very easy process.I left off my personal data points so others can learn 

Pulled TU 756 Fico 8

Income about 60k DTI 8%

280K in trade lines

28 TU pulls last 2 years

AAOA 17 months

AAOA 12y11m

I have added about 70K in about

a month from about 5 different

FI's so I was worried I wouldn't be approved.

Or not approved for so many HP's recent credit added etc.

Was not the case :-) Thanks again

PLOC should be on same HP as CC within (30) days. I confirmed this with Membership lending Department today actually. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger even though auto-pay is internal checking only .

Hi

Why not apply for the PLOC as well since its all within 30 days of your 758 score. Max PLOC allowed is 15k. In 30+ days your score may change for better or worse and hit the PLOC while its hot. You have a good score & make the most of it.

If you ask for more than 15k a POI may be required.

Posting this so others can have the DP's. I did apply for a PLOC this afternoon,asked for 10K.Used the saved application from the CC as they said it would be easier. Well this time when I hit submit on my laptop my cellphone blew up letting me know I had a HP from TU from several CRA's. Application went pending..said check back in 24 hours. No email was sent but I checked back  about ten minutes later and it was approved.  don't really mind the extra HP but it just seemed out of character with what I had read about BECU and the good for 30 day HP.  The first approval had no documents required,This one said I had to have a BECU checking account,which I do but was not funded. Maybe that's why I got the extra pull. Still a nice outcome

Thanks for the DPs, I don’t think I will apply for the PLOC if it requires another HP. I just got the savings and not the checking when I signed up.
